A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A CIVIL ENGINEER
As a Civil Engineer, you play an important role in the engineered solutions that set us apart in the rooftop support manufacturing industry. Your civil engineering department is also critical in helping us reach our goals for new product development. With attention to detail, you design rooftop equipment supports and crossover structures that are code compliant. You rise to the challenge of developing creative solutions for specific project challenges. You create detailed fabrication drawings and submittal packages to be stamped in-house or reviewed and sealed by a third party.
Your technical drawing and writing skills are essential to your success! Though you spend a lot of time working independently, you also get to collaborate with your civil engineering team, other teams, and customers regularly. Your determination to meet the specifications of our clients and our company standards shows in the quality of your work. You pride yourself in keeping track of multiple projects at a time and delivering documents in a timely manner. You are flexible and enjoy the opportunity to go out in the field from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CIVIL ENGINEER
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 2+ years as an engineer in training (EIT) OR already have your professional engineer license (PE)
- 1+ year of experience in AutoCAD, Revit, or Autodesk Inventor
- Successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam Experience (NCEES)
- Experience with design software (RISA 3D or equivalent)
- Knowledge of ASCE 7 and structural analysis
- Ability to write and edit advanced formulas in Excel
- Ability to travel 3-4 times a year to perform take-offs or inspections at customer locations
At least 2 years of experience working with structural design would be ideal but not necessarily required.

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position in our Heber office.
As a Builder in MIRO’s Custom department, you are part of a team that assembles and builds custom roof supports with metal struts and bracketing.
This job is 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, in our Heber City warehouse.
You will receive on-the-job training on reading blue prints and how to pack and ship jobs according to MIRO’s specifications. You are expected to learn various aspects of job building and product application. MIRO places high priority on safety and lean production and this position is expected to be fully engaged with implementing safe practices and helping the warehouse reach its lean (also called 5S) goals.
From time to time, you may be expected to help in other areas as needed and directed by your supervisor.
As a builder, you are expected to:
- Know how to use a tape measure,
- Be able to add and subtract fractions,
- Have the self-confidence to use power tools.
A builder also needs to:
- Be willing to take advice and make suggestions for improvement,
- Be respectful in all communications,
- Be able to work a consistent schedule, typically Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, final schedule to be approved manager (a full work day includes 2 short paid breaks and 1 unpaid lunch break),
- Be on feet all day on a concrete floor,
- Lift 50 – 60 lbs. continuously throughout the day,
- Be tolerant of temperature swings (the warehouse is hot in the summer and cold in the winter),
- Be dependable and consistent, both in keeping your work schedule and in the output you generate,
- Keep work area clean and neat and organized according to 5S principles.
A newly-hired builder should be able to demonstrate the following in the first 90 days:
- Dependability keeping your work schedule,
- Ability to meet production goals,
- That you can successfully build your own subpacket of a project, including pulling hardware, cutting, assembling, package, and prep for shipment.
- And be willing to demonstrate the knowledge you have gained on-the-job.

An Estimator is an integral part of MIRO’s Sales Team, finding solutions to meet customers’ needs and playing an important role in MIRO’s growth through generating sales.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ESTIMATOR
As an Estimator, your day is largely driven by customers’ needs. Through inbound phone calls, you begin the sales process by gaining an understanding of the customers’ projects, answering questions about both standard and custom products, and educating customers about the features and benefits of MIRO’s products. Through this process, you are able to propose solutions, generate quotes, and convert those quotes into sales orders.
Once a sales order is in place, you create the job packet including submittal sheets and cut sheets, coordinate with the Custom department to have the jobs built, and communicate with the customer important details including the job’s lead times. Upon job completion, you then verify that the finished product matches the Sales Order and forward the Sales Order on to be converted to an invoice.
In all your interactions with customers, sales reps, and other MIRO departments, you are expected to reflect MIRO’s core values. Also, we value employees who look for ways to create improvements that make processes simpler, more efficient, and error-free.
